8 killed in Myanmar water festival
A total of eight people have been killed and 166 others injured during the just-ended five-day Myanmar water festival in the weekend, official sources said Thursday.
Of the 192 criminal cases reported during the event, 17 were due to car accidents, while 82 to group fightings.
The car accidents claimed the lives of three people and 59 injury, while the group fighting resulted in 105 injury.
However, the number of this year's criminal cases during the water festival was down from last year's 145.
Other regional official statistics show that four people were killed and 106 others injured in Yangon water festival.
Car accidents cases amounted to 30 in the former capital.
