Few political prisoners release

Myanmar President U Thein Sein signed an amnesty which is granted 80 prisoners to be released today. Among 80 prisoners , 46 prisoners were local and 34 were foreigners who will be deported soon.

Intention of today amnesty govt defined as '' with a view to ensuring the stability of the State and making eternal peace, national reconciliation, enabling all to participate in political process; on humanitarian grounds; and turning them into citizens who could participate in nation-building endeavours in whatever way they can after realizing the
magnanimity of the State"

According to 88 generation students and a group of Former Political Prisoners ,they
could confirmed around 25 persons were political prisoners out of 46 prisoners.

Over 300 political prisoners still in prisons across the country by recently lists released by Former Political Prisoners.

Political prisoner issues is a major issue for former military regime and current civil government too. Last January , the most prominent political prisoners were released among 659 prisoners granted amnesty.
